Cristiano Ronaldo: Barcelona Are A Complete Team

| |

Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo was available in front of microphones in a post-training press conference and addressed many of the themes surrounding Saturday's El Clasico fixture against Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabeu.

In addressing questions about whether he or Messi was the best player in the world, Cristiano was in a jocular mood, declaring that he is older, taller and wider than Messi. However the Portuguese did give the appropriate credit after his lighthearted comments. "He is having a phenomenal season, is living a great moment and is one of the best in both the present time and of all time. I am doing good work, I am very happy and I am sure that the years I spend here are going to be very good."

As for the duel between Ronaldo and Messi, Cristiano was dismissive.

"Messi and I are not the only players who will be playing and this is not an individual game," warned the Portuguese. "I want to help Madrid win titles and I am sure that Leo wants to help Barcelona. I hope that Messi continues to score goals, but not on Saturday. Messi does not play alone and his team-mates deserve a lot of credit. He is phenomenal, but those around him are as well. Barcelona are a very complete team and we are still lacking a little bit of that 'something'. I hope that we become even more complete."

As for El Clasico, Ronaldo revealed that he does not believe it will be the match of his life. "It is a great match, a very special one. But it will not be the first nor the last we play. I want to win so that we stay ahead of them in the table. I don't have anything against Barcelona and we are the best teams in the championship. May the best team win and that team be Real Madrid."

As for the chance for revenge after Barca's 6-2 demolition of Madrid in last season's Clasico at the Bernabeu, Ronaldo was also dismissive. "They are different matches with different players. We don't feel the need for revenge. We are very conscious that this match can decide La Liga. We have great ambition to win the match."

C. Ronaldo is a great player but slightly overrated. To be honest at the moment he can't compare himself with Messi. Messi his speed, craftiness, technique & ability to control the ball so close to his feet while running full speed makes him a much more dangerous player.
I'm gonna watch El Clasico for sure and place my bets on Barcelona:-)
