Atletico Madrid players Tomas Ujfalusi, Jose Antonio Reyes and David De Gea have turned their focus to a semi-final showdown with Liverpool after knocking Valencia out of the Europa League on away goals.
Los Colchoneros progressed to the semis on a 2-2 aggregate score line after a scoreless second leg at the Vicente Calderon in Madrid and now know they face a tough task to reach May's final in Hamburg.
"This is football, we have progressed to the semi-finals, this is important. We're doing fine, we're in a final and one semi-final. We have two games against a well-known and very strong opponent," Ujfalusi noted, according to Spanish publication AS.
"We're happy and that is very important. No one, not even ourselves would have imagined this at the beginning of the season. But the team has made a very important change and it's a day to enjoy," Reyes said before adding that a semi-final against Liverpool sounds "pretty tough but attractive".
"I think the whole team has been very good. It's great to be set up to play [Fernando] Torres and we must be very careful," De Gea noted.
