Nani: Red Card Against Bayern Was The Difference

| |

Manchester United winger Nani has pinpointed Rafael Da Silva's red card during the Champions League exit at the hands of Bayern Munich as the turning point in the tie.

United had started impressively and were 3-0 up thanks to two goals from Nani and one from Darron Gibson before Bayern launched a fight back to 3-2, winning the tie on away goals after a 4-4 aggregate draw.

Youngtser Da Silva was sent off early in the second half, with the score at 3-1, and Nani reckons that swung the tie.

"They were a bit lucky, because having one player sent off was the problem for us, it made the team a bit down. That was the difference," Nani told MUTV.

"We're feeling bad because we did so well in the first half - we scored three goals and I think it was one of our best performances - so we are disappointed."

The Red Devils' focus must now switch to domestic matters, and Nani is determined that United use their five remaining Premier League games to make sure that they win their fourth consecutive league title.

"Of course, we have to give everything we have now to try to win the league," he added.

"That's where we go now."
