Inter's Marco Branca: We Aren’t Worried About Roma Overtaking Us

| |

With coach Jose Mourinho continuing to shun the press duties following Inter’s less than satisfying result against Fiorentina, sporting director Marco Branca provided a voice as the Beneamata again took a wobble at the top of the standings.

“We always try to give our maximum each game,” he declared to SkySport.

“We aren’t worried or focused on what Roma achieve against Atalanta tomorrow however.

“This evening the side did their utmost to pursue the victory and unfortunately it wasn’t enough at the final whistle.

“After taking the lead we were a little generous on the marking for the Viola’s second goal. Unfortunately these things can happen in football, and often you are most vulnerable shortly after taking the lead.

“The side created many chances in both periods and I don’t think we paid greatly from our exploits in the Champions League during the week.

The director of football was then probed as to why coach Mourinho continues to shun the post match press conferences.

“I don’t think Jose should feel obliged to do anything. He makes the decisions and it is our job to respect them.”
